Rearcross played host to Moneygall on Saturday in their final league game of the season. Despite facing tough competition throughout the season Rearcross had hoped to end it with some consolation but Moneygall were not to be outdone. Moneygall started the game with confidence and were unlucky not to register a score after 5 minutes when an effort from Mark Fanning skinned the outside of the Rearcross goalpost. The opening goal came from a Moneygall corner in the 10th minute of the game which was failed to be cleared by the Rearcross defence only for it to be knocked in at close range by Jack Kirwin. Moneygall took full control of the game following the opening score while Rearcross struggled to form any meaningful atttack. Despite Pat Carroll's fine save from a Moneygall free kick in the 16th minute the ball was knocked to the back of the Rearcross net by Mark Fanning from the rebound increasing Moneygall's advantage. A minute later it was Jack Kirwin again who made it 3-0 to the visitors. With 3 minutes from the half time break Gearoid Larkin skillfully turned past 2 Rearcross defenders and bearing down on goal slotted Moneygall's 4th of the game. The second half proved to be little different with Moneygall comanding the pace of the game. Despite Rearcross' best efforts few chances were created to worry the Moneygall side. A further 3 goals were added to the visitors tally to before the final whistle was sounded.
